"I read a book twice as fast as anybody else. First I read the beginning, and then I read the ending, and then I start in the middle and read toward whichever end I like best."
(Gracie Allen)

"I'm thirty years old, but I read at the thirty-four-year-old level." (Dana Carvey)
"A book is a present you can open again and again." (Anonymous)
"God forbid that any book should be banned. The practice is as indefensible as infanticide." (Rebecca West)

McEvoy's Musings
I have read and like most of Palahniuk's stuff, Haunted was truly disturbing. When I met Him he said he is trying to write something that can not be done in film. Yet Everything has been optioned.
As for Haldeman, I loved Heinlien's and Buttener's Orphanage versions of the story. But found Haldeman's wanting.

I'm up. I always take forever on these...this one was harder than I anticipated, too!
Hi, Cat,
I couldn't get your comments link to work, but I did read your answers. I had Asimov, too, but then switched to Clarke.
