About Library Thing

Library Thing is for cataloging one's library. So my collection there will reflect not my reading, but the books I'm keeping. Which means all the reviews/stars will be fairly high as I do not keep books I don't like. And it won't reflect my actual reading. I'll still need my online and offline journals for that.

So, anyone else using Library Thing?

  1. I'm actually using Library Thing to keep track of the books I read in 2007, first time I'm trying to keep track. I usually get books from the public library so for me it doesn't reflect my collection, only what I'm reading or planning to read.

  2. I signed up for Library Thing awhile back, got my "living room" books entered, got distracted, and haven't been back in eons. I don't even remember my login! oh, well...

And I never thought about using it to "store" the books I've read (but don't necessarily own)! Brilliant! :-)

  4. I started with Library Thing, and then found Shelfari. Through Shelfari I've joined a number of groups, keep adding to my list of book friends, and started a blog for Shelfarians who want to blog about books. If you want to see the book blog (and possibly join?) the url is:
    http://shelfaribookbloggers.blogspot.com

I keep meaning to get back to Library Thing to update and explore more about the place, but I keep getting involved in other sites and never make it.

Let me know if you want more info about the group book blog. It would be great to have you participate! :)

  5. Hi, Manky,
I love your blog, btw. Been playing on your sidebar, clicking stuff.

I've seen Shelfari and others, but I started with Library Thing and I like its name. I joined some groups but haven't visited them (yet).

I wish I had time to participate in a group blog, but I'm in another group blog I hardly post in. I barely manage to post here. Thanks anyway. :)
